Meet Rachel!

Rachel was orphaned. Her smile has become our symbol of hope for the future through education. She attends the Mount Carmel School, one of the schools ekids Village helps to fund.

ekids Village

builds schools and provides support for primary schools, and funds educational programs for children living in the remote Mountain Villages and Hillstations.

The children of the Himalayas represent a cross secton of the many tribes, scheduled castes and religious backgrounds that make up the high elevation communities.
Our eKids Village schools embrace and encourage tradition, culture and the rich heritage of the Himalayan people by honoring the safekeeping of these traditions through education, while encouraging global and contemporary opportunities and advancements.

ekids Village now supports three primary schools, in Sag Bari, Sikkim, Melli, Sikkim, and Namchi, Sikkim. All of our schools are doing well, and are growing in admissions.
In March,2008, ekids Village opened a new school for the children and the community of Melli, a small bustling village along the Tista River, 6800 feet above sea level. The initial enrollment: 11 students.

In 2009, the Melli Primary School was still growing accommodating upwards of 29 students. Our challenge became to raise money to support this growth.

By the end of 2009, we were able to raise funds for an additional new teacher, uniforms and books for the new students.

We were able to save this school after it had been shut down because of lack of funds.

The Sag Bari Primary school admissions has grown.

We need funding to help us to continue our support.

Through community cooperation, matching donations of money and materials, interns and voluntary workers, H20himal2002 ekids Village program will build schools for primary education and equip them with books, supplies, and teachers needed to provide a quality education in Mountain communities.

Schools provide a sense of community and pride, as well as education for the children.

As we grow, ekids Village continues to need funds to assure the success and sustainability of the Melli, Sag Bari, and Namchi Primary Schools, and to fund new schools for remote mountain Villages that are asking for our help.
